Nothing is getting in between this little elephant and her favorite human.
Kham Lha, the youngest elephant at Elephant Nature Park in northern Thailand, and her favourite staffer, Darrick, share a really special bond.
Which is why when she spotted Darrick ‘drowning’ in the river, she rushed into the water to try to save him.
And it was the sweetest thing ever.
Footage shows Kham Lha leap to rescue Darrick when she sees him apparently drowning in the water (even though he doesn’t really need saving).
When she finally catches up with him, the love between the pair is clear.
Darrick gives the little elephant a big hug to say ‘thank you’ for rescuing him.
Kham Lha was one of 19 elephants that the sanctuary rescued from the tourism industry in 2015.
At just four years old, she was made to undergo gruelling training at the hands of her captors.
Luckily, she’s now safe and sound, finally enjoying life at the Nature Park with her friends and, of course, Darrick.
